On May 2, 2023, Robert (Bob) Thorn, FACHE, CEO of Summit Healthcare Strategy, presented “Don’t Always Believe What They Tell You – Seven Myths of Rural Healthcare.” Bob covered seven major blind spots in rural healthcare, including the myth that “Medicare Cost Reports are optimized.” Participants were very impressed with the level of detail provided by Bob.
The 90-minute Forum also featured a roundtable discussion by CEO/CFO participants. The group discussion was facilitated by Forum Moderator Chris Ekrem, FACHE, VP of Hospitals at EqualizeRCM.
EqualizeRCM is pleased to sponsor another relevant educational session with expert speakers for rural hospital administrators and CFOs. The 5/2/23 Forum focused on the following:
The seven myths of rural healthcare – smaller is simpler, all rural hospitals are about the same and offer the same services, CAH reimbursement guarantees a positive bottom line, there is a limited ROI on telehealth, if a rural hospital closes, the quality of care is not impacted like it would be if an urban hospital closes, swing beds are over-utilized, and Medicare Cost Reports are optimized. We hope you can join us at the next CAH Forum this August 22 to learn from experts and your peers about the challenges facing the industry. Be sure to visit www.CAHForum.com to learn more.
